District 153 has an Online Registration system (OLR). Please read the following information carefully to ensure that your registration process is as smooth as possible. 

REGISTERING A STUDENT WHO IS NEW TO DISTRICT 153

 
*All CURRENT District 153 families must register students via their Parent Portal account, including current PreK families with students moving on to kindergarten in 2023-2024 and incoming kindergarten students of current District 153 families (i.e. with older siblings).

Required documents for families NEW to District 153

1.   Valid Illinois Driver’s License (Must have correct address)
2.   Mortgage/Lease/Other
    • If you rent, current lease, showing the date of expiration and the name and phone number of your landlord.
    • If you own, current mortgage statement.
    • If you live with a resident, please call registration at 708-647-2310 for additional information. The resident you live with must provide the residency documents (detailed on this page) and complete a specialized, notarized questionnaire. Parent/Guardian must provide a driver’s license and a current mailing in their name at the current address. For example, paycheck stub (with name and address), a current bank statement, a charge card statement, or cell phone bill. This must be completed every year.
3.   One current utility bill (water, gas or electric only) or current homeowner's/renter's insurance policy
 
If your living circumstances differ from any of the above, you must call Registration at 708-647-2310.
 

The following must also be provided for all students NEW to the district:

  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Current I.E.P. or 504 Plan or Other Special Service Documents, if applicable.
  • Illinois State Transfer Form
  • Evidence of a physical exam from a Physician practicing in the State of Illinois and an immunization record regardless of their grade level prior to enrollment.
  • If there are any custody restrictions, please submit a copy of the court order and/or divorce decree to the school.

REGISTRATION FOR CURRENT DISTRICT 153 STUDENTS/FAMILIES

 
All returning students must be registered through Parent Portal.

To access online registration within your parent portal account, please follow these steps:
  1. Login to your parent portal account
  2. Click on top left menu to access the drop-down menu
  3. At bottom of the drop-down menu, select MORE
  4. On the next tab, select ONLINE REGISTRATION
Do you need to register an incoming kindergartner, too?
  1. Register the older student(s) first
  2. Then select "add new student" within in the same online registration.
 
 
Required documents for returning students
 
  • If you rent, current lease showing the date of expiration and the name and phone number of the landlord. Each year a new lease must be provided.
  • If you are living with a Homewood resident, please submit the completed live with form along with the necessary residency documents.
  • All incoming 6th-graders and Kindergartners need to prove residency by uploading a current mortgage statement or lease, a current utility bill, and Driver’s License/ID with current address.  For all other grades, if your housing status is own, and you are registering under the same address as you resided at for the 2023-2024 school year, you do not have to prove residency.
  • If you have a change of address, please be sure to upload your new lease if you rent, or mortgage statement and current utility bill if you own.

HEALTH-RELATED REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

  • NEW physicals with all required immunizations must be submitted for students entering preK/EC for the first time, all kindergarten, all 6th grade, and all transfers from out of state/country. 
  • All transfers from another district in Illinois must submit records from the previous required grade (or more recent).

All Kindergarten, preschool for the first time, and transfers from another district in Illinois
In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health and Homewood School District 153 Board Policy, your incoming student must have a physical exam from most recent required grade (see chart above) with complete immunization records on file at Willow School by the first day of student attendance for your student to attend school. Dental and eye exams should be submitted before May 15 of the school year. 
 
New students from out of state/country
In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health and Homewood School District 153 Board Policy, your new student(s) from out of state will need a NEW physical completed on the Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination, along with their complete immunization records on file at Willow School within 30 days of registration to avoid exclusion from school.

Returning students are not required to submit any new physical exam/immunization records.  

 
Transfers from another district in Illinois
In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health and Homewood School District 153 Board Policy, your student must have a physical exam from kindergarten (or more recent) with complete immunization records on file by October 1, 2024, for your student to attend school after that date. If registering after October 1, records must be on file before student will be permitted to attend school. 
 
New students from out of state/country
In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health and Homewood School District 153 Board Policy, new student(s) from out of state will need a NEW physical completed on the Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination, along with their complete immunization records on file at the school by October 1, 2024 or within 30 days of registration (whichever is more lenient) to avoid exclusion from school.

Payment Information
  • Fees may be paid by check, money order, credit/debit, or in cash. Credit/debit card payments can be made online via your Parent Portal account, at the administrative office, or over the phone by calling 708-647-2242 .
  • Payment must be made, or a fee waiver application must be on file in the District Office by the 1st day of school. Payment plans can be made by contacting Maria Harnisch at 708-647-2242.

BUS TRANSPORTATION

Bus Information

Bus routes are planned during summer. If your child will attend a day care service (before or after school) that is within district boundaries, you must contact Alma Gonzalez at the district office, 708-922-2411 as soon as arrangements have been decided.
